A Gift for the Believer

God has a specific purpose and ministry for every believer. Our spiritual gifts help us to fulfill His plans and purposes. We learn which one (or ones) we possess by getting involved in the life of the church.

In other words, a believer will know his divinely appointed abilities when he begins to exercise them. However, even though the Bible clearly states that every believer receives a spiritual gift, some people think they were overlooked.

So these individuals go through life refusing opportunities to serve. Other folks are so busy wishing they had a different gift, that they don't use the one(s) given to them by the Holy Spirit. Both of these attitudes hinder the body of Christ considerably.

1 Peter 4:10-11 reminds us, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so with the strength God provide, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Remember, everyone has at least one spiritual gift, and it should be faithfully used in serving others, not for our own enjoyment.

Blessings, and thank you for your service!
