Be on Your Guard

1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV) tells us to "Be on your guard. Be firm in the faith; Be courageous; Be strong." All the watching, all the firm standing, all the bravery, and all the strength you demonstrate will mean nothing without love.

People who look after something or someone are considered watchers or guards and are demonstrating love. You see them everywhere. You can look around every corner and there are watchers and guards because there are so many dangerous people in the world today.

However, we're thankful that the Lord looks after us to also fulfill this role. No, it doesn't mean that we will never end up in a dangerous situation, or be assaulted, or get hurt. It means that He will watch over us in such a way that nothing or no one will be able to snatch us from His hand.

The Bible says in Acts 20:28, "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood."

Watch and pray!

Blessings!
