Don't Gossip

sredeemed

Today, gossiping seems to be the favorite pastime for many people. However, I define a gossip as one who profess other weaknesses on their behalf in their absence. (Basically, someone that talks behind your back).

Proverbs 20:19 (NLT) tells us that "A gossip goes around telling secrets, so don't hang around with chatterers". So, be mindful and aware of the company you're keeping. God doesn't like gossipers.

Gossiping is a toxic behavior that breeds distrust and bitterness, so steer clear and avoid it and the people who do it. If you have nothing constructive or positive to say about another person, then it would be highly suggested that you keep your mouth shut and keep it to yourself.

Before you share a hurtful story or critical though, ask yourself why you are sharing these things with this particular person. Consider what's gained versus what 's lost by gossiping. We should build people up with your words, don't break them down. Have their backs with your words, don't make others a gossip

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear" Ephesians 4:29 *ESV).
