Throughout history, individuals who exhibit a willingness to take risks and seize opportunities can be found in every corner of society. These opportunists are characterized by their readiness to capitalize on situations for personal gain.
In the context of religious teachings, the apostle Paul draws a parallel between this opportunistic behavior and the concept of sin in relation to God's Law. Sin, personified as a cunning force, exploited the absence of clear guidelines to assert its presence and influence before the Law could establish boundaries.
Nevertheless, since the beginning of Christ's dispensation, believers have entered into a new era. In this period, it is essential for followers to adopt a proactive attitude similar to that of opportunists. Instead of falling for the deceit of sin, believers are urged to courageously take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
Through this action, they not only show respect for their faith but also aim to live in a way that reflects and amplifies the principles and beliefs of Christ.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Galatians 6:10, NIV).
