"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on my hands."
2 Timothy 1:6, NIV
All of us have special gifts, and you are no exception. But your gifts are no guarantee of success; it must be cultivated, developed, and nurtured; otherwise, it will go unused... and God's gift to you will be wasted.
Your particular gift is a treasure on temporary loan from God. He intends that your gift blesses the world and your life. Value the gift that God has given you, nourish it, make it grow, and share it with the world.
Then, when you meet God face-to-face, you, too, will hear those wonderful words, "Well done, good and faithful servant! .... Come and share your Master's happiness!"
Remember, converting your gift into a polished skill will require work, and lots of it. God's Word clearly instructs you to do the hard work of refining your gifts for the glory of His kingdom and the service of His people.
So, we are wise to remember the old saying: "What you are is God's gift to you; what you become is your gift to God." And it's up to you to make sure that your gift is worthy of the Giver. You are the only one on earth who can use your gift.
Blessings!
